W.Wongkaew

Watcharapong Wongkaew is an accomplished civil engineer specializing in transportation science, urban planning, and artificial intelligence, with a strong academic foundation and professional experience in Thailand. Graduating with first-class honors in Civil Engineering from Chulalongkorn University, he has cultivated a deep interest in the intersection of geography, transportation science, and AI. His academic pursuits were complemented by his research apprenticeship at the Chulalongkorn University Transportation Institute, where he delved into contemporary transportation modeling and public transportation policy.

Currently, Watcharapong serves as a Researcher at the Academic Division of the Pheu Thai Party, where he plays a pivotal role in analyzing transportation data, generating insights from the Household Travel Survey 2022, and designing public transportation policies. His work includes planning bus routes and incentives for public transport mode shifting, reflecting his commitment to improving urban mobility in Bangkok.

In addition to his role with the Pheu Thai Party, Watcharapong is also affiliated with the Advanced Railway Infrastructure Innovation and Systems Engineering (ARIISE) Research Unit, where he focuses on railway track management, sustainable transportation, and climate change adaptation. His leadership in independent projects, such as public transportation cost analysis and travel time modeling, highlights his innovative approach to addressing transportation challenges in Thailand.

Watcharapong’s dedication to education is evident through his role as a Lecturer and Faculty Advisor at Mahidol Wittayanusorn School, where he has developed curricula for the National Geography Olympiad and trained students in geography fieldwork and human geography.
